BAR OPEN 6PM / VENUE DOORS 7PM
Three of Wolverhampton's finest acts come together for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of rock and roll.
Wolves-based singer-songwriter Sam Lambeth brings his blend of country-infused alternative rock back to his home town for his first headline gig in three years. Backed by a phenomenal live band, Lambeth will be performing songs from his forthcoming record, No Sign of the Summer, whose songs have already received airplay on Radio X and Brum Radio, as well as tracks from his extensive back catalogue.
Influenced by classic artists such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Tom Petty - as well as more contemporary acts like MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee and Sam Fender - Lambeth's songs have been described as "surging rock and roll" by Louder than War. His music has been played on BBC Radio 1, featured in Rolling Stone magazine and has seen him supported the likes of The Lemonheads, We Are Scientists, The Orielles and The Bluetones.
Also on the bill are local legends Smokin' Eskimo. Combining a potent blend of blues, funk and rock & roll, the Bilston trio have built a formidable reputation as a fearsome, energetic live act. Having recently headlined the annual Community festival in Wolverhampton, the three-piece are set to bring their unique melange of influences and sounds - as well as their blistering, anthemic songs - to DIVE. Well loved wherever they go, Smokin' Eskimo have performed acclaimed sets across the UK. Rooted in '60s psychedelica but with an edge straight from Britpop, Smokin' Eskimo have built a solid reputation as one of the West Midlands' best and brightest bands - their live sets are not to be missed.
Completing a great lineup is another burgeoning Wolverhampton band, Run! Don't Walk. The five-piece have their foundations in driving, irresistible punk pop but combine it with an alt rock sensibility. Augmented with glorious three-part harmonies, the Wolves outfit have performed a number of gigs across the Midlands to rapturous responses. Their two singles released so far - 'Stateside' and 'Poison Princess' - are classic touchstones of the punk pop discipline, built around stomping drums, jagged fretwork and choruses made for festivals.
